MasterCard Secure Code is a form of 3-D Secure Consumer Authentication that applies to MasterCard Credit and debit (Maestro) transactions. Verified by Visa, American Express SafeKey and JCB J/Secure are similar services.

Verified by Visa is a consumer authentication mechanism also known as 3-D Secure. It is intended to validate the authorized cardholder is the one attempting to make a purchase online.

Identity Document Verification confirms the legitimacy of an identity document, such as a passport, Driver's License or national ID card, by performing automated and manual checks to determine the authenticity of a consumer provided document.
