ACH payments and transfers are identified with a three letter Standard Entry Class (SEC) code. There are 20 codes used for consumer, corporate and other applications.
Consumer ACH Transactions
ARC - Accounts Receivable Entry - Checks received by mail or drop box converted to ACH debits
CIE - Consumer Initiated Entry - Consumer initiates bill payment online
MTE - Machine Transfer Entry - Transactions from ATMs
PBR - Consumer Cross-Border Payment - Cross-border ACH credit or debit
POP - Point-of-Purchase Entry - Checks accepted at point-of-sale converted to ACH debit
PPD - Prearranged Payment & Deposit Entry - Includes Direct Deposit (credit) and preauthorized (automatic) bill payment (debit)
POS/SHR - Point of Sale Entry/Shared Network Transaction - Customer uses debit card at point of sale in a shared (SHR) or non-shared (POS) environment
RCK - Re-presented Check Entry - Electronic resubmission of NSF consumer paper checks
TEL - Telephone Initiated Entry - EFT transactions that have been authorized over the telephone
WEB - Internet Initiated Entry - EFT transactions that have been authorized over the Internet
Corporate ACH Transactions
CBR - Corporate Cross-Border Payment - Cross border B2B ACH credit or debit
CCD - Cash Concentration or Disbursement - Business Electronic Fund Transfers (debit or credit)
CTX - Corporate Trade Exchange - Transfer of funds (debit or credit) with full ANSI ASC X12 message
Other ACH Applications
ACK/ATX - Acknowledgment Entries - Optional codes for receiving institution to acknowledge receipt of CCD (ACK) or CTX (ATX) credit/payment
ADV - Automated Accounting Advice - Identifies automated accounting advices of ACH accounting information to facilitate automation of information
COR - Automated or Refused Notification of Change - Used for originating a Notification of Change or Refused Notification of Change in automated format
DNE - Death Notification Entry - used by federal government agency to notify financial institutions that recipient of government benefit payment has died
ENR - Automated Enrollment Entry - Fininancial institutions transmitting ACH enrollment information to federal government agencies for future credits and debits
TRC/TRX - Truncated Entries - Indentifies batches of truncated checks
XCK - Destroyed Check Entry - Utilized for collections of chertain checks when those checks have been destroyed

Technical Details
ACH transactions come in many different forms, including Direct Deposits, online banking bill payments and electronic checks. With so many different kinds of transctions ACH processing can be offered with a variety of solutions, and in this sections I discuss Web, PC, and SOAP solutions.
Web Solutions

WEB is the web version for conducting ACH transactions. Online transactions can be done to originate a multitude of ACH transactions including:
- PPD - Consumer Electronic Fund Transfers (Debit/Credit)
- CCD - Business Electronic Fund Transfers (Debit/Credit)
- RCK - Electronic resubmission of NSF consumer paper checks
- TEL - EFT transactions that have been authorized over the telephone
- WEB - EFT transactions that have been authorized over the Internet
- ARC - Checks that have been received in the mail and are converted into ACH debits
- POP - Checks that are accepted at the point of sale and are converted into ACH debits
Online transactions has a variety of data entry methods designed to fit your needs. Transactions can be entered individually, imported as cut and paste text file or upload NACHA batch file.
Important features include a module of initiating a direct deposit, entry of recurring transactions, resubmission of returned (NSFs - R01 or R09) transactions, viewing and editing of scheduled transactions, viewing of deleted transactions, and viewing of settlement and return report.
Reports can be exported to an ASCII format file or CSV (spreadsheet e.g. MS Excel) file. Acrobat PDF format reports are also available for viewing, printing or permanent storage.

PC Features
Reporting - One-click reporting easily generates reports on transaction status, returned items, settled transactions, and transaction statistics. Each time an user establishes communication to our server, all reports are automatically updated with up to the minute transaction status. All reports are customizable and can be filtered by the user to reflect desired output, i.e. by payee, payor, internal identification number, process dates, settlement identification numbers (found on depository bank statement), etc.
Import/Export - With minimal formatting, transaction data can be imported for submission to the ACH network as EFT or RCK transactions. Payments that have been processed can also be exported for use with existing accounting and management systems.
Auto Re-Submits - Any payment submitted can be pre-set for automatic re-submission, in the event it is returned unpaid for insufficient fund availability. Re-submitted transactions may be processed immediately upon notification of return, or re-sent on a future date at the user's discretion.
Auto Upgrades - There are no interruptions to your daily business when updating your software. Whenever a new version or feature upgrade is available to you, it will be seamlessly deployed when you establish communication to our server while conducting your usual transmission of payments.
Archives - Payment transactions older than three (3) months can be archived out of your working system to minimize the amount of data viewable. Data can be archived at intervals determined by the user, and can be retrieved from archive at any time.
Help Desk - Available 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on regular business days, and free of charge, the Help Desk is staffed by courteous, knowledgeable individuals prepared to assist you and your staff with the successful use of your software.

SOAP is a platform independent solution that can be used for originating ACH single or batch transactions, receiving transaction status updates, and utilizing some of our core features such as easy settlement. It allows the use of any operating system or platform (Windows/Linux/Solaris) and/or using any programming language or developer tool that can provide a client program for SOAP.
